November News

Well it looks like I am only managing an update once a month. I have great intentions but as most of you can relate, the kids come first.

We attended out first UT football game in Oct. Our friends from Bardstown, who now live in Knoxville, treated us to a wonderful weekend. It was so good to see them after so many years.

We had a great Halloween. Our neighbors traveled with us in our stylish Dale Jr. golf cart. Drew and Cade were Dale Jr. Monica was a Devil Grrrl. and Natalie and her friend Meghan were Mix match girls.

Last Night Natalie had her Soccer Banquet. She was awarded the Offense, Player of the year. She worked very hard to prove she could play offense. I guess it payed off. She really didn't expect it since she had played defense in the beginning of the year and also she is only a seventh grader. There were some great 8th graders on her team.
She was also awarded the Wonder Woman Award for: Covering the whole field and always being at the right place at the right time.

Time to put together a play mobile hospital. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Keeping Up.

Not sure where the time goes. We have had a very busy month. Good thing I have forgot a lot of what has gone on or you would probably get really bored if you aren't already :-)

Over fall break we made it to MS to visit our friends. The girls had a big time seeing old friends. We stayed the night with a friend of mine who has a daughter Natalie's age. She learned how to Blue Tooth music from one phone to the other. I try to stay up on that stuff but they really got me this time. Natalie was surprised that the kids at her school didn't know about this. Guess we are a little behind those MS folks. Mike played in the Member Guest in MS. He and Doug are the Champions for the second time in three years. We didn't get to stay long and missed seeing several people. We are definately going to try to stay more than 48 hours next time.

We then headed to Fl to help out my Grandma. It was a few intense days of sorting through papers, going to see lawyers, financial planners, bank ,facility director, realtors, errands and cleaning up her house that won't sell (and is now not worth much of anything). I am taking over her affairs since she is unable. She is very grateful. I may have to move her to this area. Her situation is not good for her. We helped her with a few groceries and she just broke down right at the register. It is hard to see her in this pain. She was good to me when I was growing up and it is the least I could do. It is difficult doing this from so far away. Well, I already handle affairs for five, what's one more. HA!

We managed one day of fun while we were in FL. We went back to Disney's Magic Kingdom. We did not have a chance to see any other friends or family this time. We saw my sister for breakfast the last day and drove the whole way back the same day. (6 nights in a hotel was enough).

Yes, we all rode

space mountain.

Lebanon sure is treating us well. Monica tested into the gifted/talented program. She had her first nine weeks awards. She got the all A honor roll, a reading award, and the awesome attitude award. Natalie also received all A's. I wasn't sure since I have only seen her do home work about 3 days the whole 9 weeks. It is amazing what a change in schools can do for a kid.

Good News

Wow, we have had lots of things happening around here.

Thanks for your prayers, my dads cancer is gone. I am so happy. He has been so positive through all this. We can't wait to go fishing at his house. Drew practices his casting almost everyday.

Last week Mike's Sister had her baby. She invited me to be a part of bringing her new daughter into this world. What a miracle. I have seen many babies born but it was so much more special to be present for my niece. Mike's family is so good to me, they sure make me feel like there own. So, they didn't know it was girl. Well, big sister Micah always knew she was a girl.

Her name is McClaine Elizabeth, A real sweet heart. Good thing I am too old to have another. I will just have to visit Susie more often to get my baby fix.

Goal Count, Natalie scored 3 more goals in the game last Saturday and 1 in the game last Tuesday.

My friend Sharon seems to be doing well, thanks for your prayers for her. She did take a helicopter ride to the hospital last week and ended up with another stent. Then one more trip the end of the week. She is doing better each day.

Monica is 10

Hi Y'all,
Monica had a great birthday party on Saturday. Lots of work, but as Mike said, "One day she will appreciate it." I hope it is sooner than later. We ended up with warm weather and about 10 kids. Just right! Drew slept through the whole party. I kept sneaking in to wake him, he had been waiting so long for the party to start. After everyone left he woke up and asked,"is it time for presents yet?" I now know a few parents so that we can start to have some friends for sleep-overs. It is so hard not knowing the families. I just can't let the children go to friend's houses if I don't know the parents. We are going on the third year of sleep over excuses. She can't wait to have friends over for the night. Thank goodness for Meredith from Clarksville. She has been able to come stay three times since we have moved.

Please say more prayers for my friend Sharon. She had to be flown to Vanderbilt and have another stent put in today. Thank God she is doing well right now. While you are at it, a prayer for my dad would be great. He has his PET scan this week to see if his cancer is gone. He just finished his second round of radiation. He seems to be doing well. He just has to be okay.

Now for Natalie's goal count. We are not used to her making goals because she used to play defense. She scored all four goals last Friday night. We won 4 to 0.

I have not been good at keeping baby books so I have decided this is the next best place to document all our fun activities.

Computer Tech

I have had lots of trouble with out computer the last year or two. I spent all day on it yesterday and now I am having a blast with some programs that didn't work well for me. Probably saved myself a couple of hundred $$$. Now I can bore you with even more stuff.
Here is a video clip of Drew from July. He had just finished playing golf.
To hear the volume you need to go to the "Summer Fun" slide show and turn off the volume. Just click the speaker below the slide show.
